You will learn to fight, defend yourself, and all of the other things that quality academies offer but you will also grow as an individual in ways that you never thought possible. Inochi was designed with YOU in mind, Your safety, Your health, Your physical well-being, Your family and Your community. You will be challenged and pushed to your limits and beyond while being encouraged to press higher by your new found friends and family.
At Inochi Mixed Martial Arts we understand that the journey towards becoming effective and efficient in Martial Arts is a long one, however the journey to learn is never ending. The friends you make here will become family as you push each other to be your best throughout the years.
Inochi’s Mixed Martial Arts program is designed for those looking to begin training in martial arts or looking to become more complete in their martial arts training. We not only give you the foundation you need to be successful in martial arts but the transitional tools you will need to apply the techniques you will learn in a variety of situations.
At Inochi Mixed Martial Arts we believe in recognizing the effectiveness of traditional training methods but not being limited by them. Although we recognize and learn the names of techniques we do not focus on the names as much as focusing on what will work best for the moment at hand. We incorporate both the old and new and continually strive to evaluate the effectiveness of what we teach and modify along the way.
Whether you want to learn to defend yourself in the street or compete in the ring, it is necessary to train both in the Gi (Kimono) and without it in basically Three Ranges of Fighting: Standup, Clinch and Ground.
The range in which both combatants are on their feet. Inochi develops their fighting strategy in this range extensively from traditional fighting systems such as JuKiDo, Karate, Wing Chun, Boxing, Kickboxing and Muay Thai.
The range in which both combatants are in physical contact. Inochi develops their fighting strategy in this range extensively from JuKiDo, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Greco Roman and Free Style Wrestling and Muay Thai.
The range in which both combatants are on the ground. Fighting in this range pulls almost entirely from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu combined with Wrestling. Whether with a gi or without, BJJ is by far the most effective art for fighting on the ground tracing its roots back to Judo and Japanese Ju-Jitsu.
The reason our program is unique is partly because we recognize that each individual will use the tools we give them to accomplish different things based on the mindset they fight or defend themselves with. We begin by showing you the ‘IDEAL’ situation and how the technique applies with the understanding that there is a BIG gap between ‘IDEAL’ and ‘REAL’. We drill the ‘IDEAL’ in order to more effectively apply it in a ‘REAL’ situation through simulated ‘self-defense’ and live sparring.
It is training in this manner that will better prepare you to be successful in whatever endeavor you choose. If you don’t spar, if your training is not ‘alive’ but instead just static drills or patterns, then what you do will not translate into what is actual fighting or self-defense.
At IMMA we recognize that not everyone has the desire to compete in tournaments, the ring or a cage and we do not limit our classes for that purpose. Whether your goals are to be able to adequately defend yourself, compete or they are exclusively for fitness and fun, which translates to stress release and a sense of well-being; our program is one of the most effective, challenging and safe ways to build the necessary attributes for self-defense as well as build overall fitness. In summary we give our students a solid foundation, and train them based on their approach to success not just ours.
